Welcome

IT’S APPLEFEST TIME!
Applefest is Saturday, September 20th from 10AM-3PM in the park. There will be food booths, a chicken barbeque, as well as games and vendors.  The rain date is the following Saturday.  The proceeds benefit activities here at the school.

Evacuation Drill Planned
Fair Haven Grade School will be having a full evacuation drill which will include relocation to our safe spaces located in the local churches.  This practice drill will take place on Monday, September 15th and the rain date will be Wednesday, September 17th.  We want to thank local law enforcement, emergency rescue personnel, and the local churches for their assistance.  Fair Haven Grade School is very appreciative of the community’s support.

Butterflies Released
Students in first grade are keeping close watch as Monarch butterflies continue to emerge from their chrysalises.  The students have been studying about the life cycle of the Monarch and their migration to Mexico.  The students got out their maps to see how far these butterflies need to fly.  Once the butterflies emerge, the teacher and students carefully take the butterfly to our butterfly garden where they dry and strengthen their wings before heading south.  Special thanks to the different staff members who take care of our butterfly garden. The garden contains a variety of species that butterflies like best including milkweed and goldenrod.Â
